Liberty Prize Catalog
2 Liberty Prize Catalog
New York, NY Macfadden Publications 1934 First Edition; First Printing Magazine Good with No dust jacket as issued
Some soiling to cover with creases to corners. Contents clean and bright. This catalog was used by "salesboys" who sold magazines in the 1930's for MacFadden Publications. They would earn coupons "greenies and brownies" which they could then redeem for prizes. Bernarr Macfadden (1868-1955) " became the most successful publisher of magazines in history. He was the first magazine publisher to establish a large, loyal readership. His circulation numbers were the highest in the industry exceeding even the publications of William Randolph Hearst. He truly revolutionized the publishing industry. Virtually overnight Macfadden's net worth increased astronomically. By 1924 at age 56 he had become a multi-millionaire" (bernarrmacadden.com). A rare, if not unique, example of this method of selling which gained momentum after the "Great Depression". Rare.; Vol. 10; Photographs, illustrations

Walk This Way The Autobiography of Aerosmith (Author Signed), Aerosmith & Stephen Davis
9 Aerosmith & Stephen Davis Walk This Way The Autobiography of Aerosmith (Author Signed)
Avon Books 1997 0380975947 / 9780380975945 First Edition; First Printing Hardcover Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket
Signed by Tyler, Hamilton, Whitford, and Kremer. Beautiful scarce collectors grade copy of this book. Dust Jacket now in Mylar Protective Cover and book housed in slipcase. From Aerosmith's heyday in the late 1970s, which they spent "gacked to the nines" (as lead singer Steven Tyler puts it), to the Aerosmith of today--clean, sober, and adored by millions--the band has a long, hard history. Walk This Way chronicles the whole story: drugs, booze, and all.Prefaced with the now familiar rock-star "intervention," when Steven Tyler's loved ones cornered him in his manager's office in 1986, the autobiography traces Aerosmith's twisted road, from their New Hampshire roots to their success in Boston to the worldwide fame that they long craved and currently enjoy. Tyler kicks off this rock & roll exposé, briefly recounting the history of his ancestors in Italy and sharing incidents from his own Northeast childhood. The book is written in interview style, with all five band members talking candidly about the good times--and the bad. We also hear from girlfriends, wives, friends, and various hangers-on. ; Photographs; 9.40 X 6.40 X 1.50 inches; 513 pages; Signed by All Authors

12 Alabama Official Inaugural Program Honoring Governor George C. Wallace, January 14, 1963
Montgomery, AL Inaugural Committee 1963 First Edition; First Impression Paperback Very Good with No dust jacket as issued
Blue and white cover with photo of George C. Wallace. George Corley Wallace, Jr. (August 25, 1919 – September 13, 1998) was an American politician and the 45th Governor of Alabama, having served two nonconsecutive terms and two consecutive terms as a Democrat: 1963–1967, 1971–1979 and 1983–1987. Wallace has the third longest gubernatorial tenure in post-Constitutional U.S. history at 5,848 days. After four runs for U.S. President (three as a Democrat and one on the American Independent Party ticket), he earned the title "the most influential loser" in 20th century U.S. politics, according to biographers Dan T. Carter and Stephan Lesher.A 1972 assassination attempt left Wallace paralyzed, and he used a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. He is remembered for his Southern populist and segregationist attitudes during the mid-20th century period of the African-American civil rights movement and activism, which gained passage of federal civil rights legislation in the mid-1960s to enforce constitutional rights for all citizens. He eventually renounced segregationism but remained a populist.(Wikipedia); Photographs, Illustrations
