Contains the Official Directory, Ministerial Directory, Church reports. minister reports, etc. A rare work. Pilgrim Holiness Church or ' International Apostolic Holiness Church '[IAHC] is a religious denomination associated with the holiness movement that split from the Methodist Episcopal Church by Martin Wells Knapp in 1897. It was first organized in Cincinnati, Ohio as the International Holiness Union and Prayer League [IHU/IAHC]. Knapp, founder of the IAHC, ordained and his Worldwide Missions Board sent Charles and Lettie Cowman who had attended God's Bible School to Japan in December 1900. By the International Apostolic Holiness Churches Foreign Missionary Board and the co-board of the Revivalist the Cowmans had been appointed the General Superintendents and the Kilbournes the vice-General Superintendent for Korea, Japan and China December 29, 1905. The organization later became the Pilgrim Holiness Church in 1922 which eventually merged with the Wesleyan Methodists in 1968 to form the Wesleyan Church. Among many other Holiness children, the Korea Holiness Church, daughter of the IAHC/PHC, has approximately 10,000 churches globally and two million members in the four holiness denominations in 2010.Today, two groups of Pilgrim Holiness churches still exist from the secession of the merger in 1968-the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Inc. (of the Midwest) and the Pilgrim Holiness Church of NY, Inc. These two groups are not associated with the Wesleyan Church today but align themselves with the Conservative Holiness Movement. Many of the members merged into the Nazarene Church. Rare. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 14 pages; Signed by Associated

Jared Lillie, 1776, His Book, Lillie, Jared
3 Lillie, Jared Jared Lillie, 1776, His Book
None listed Jared Lillie 1776 First Edition; First Impression Ephemera Good with No dust jacket as issued
This handwritten paper booklet dated 1776 looks to be a journal/diary of the author. Strings holding text block. It could also be a practice booklet for Universial Penmanship as many of the illustrations follow this penmanship style akaThe Universal Line of Beauty style which was utilized in the 14th Century through the 19th Century. There are two references to Penmanship, one is a letter to Joseph Champion the writing Master to St. Pauls School London and one a Poem on the Universal Penman by M. John Bancks (an English writer (1709-1751).. There seems to be a missing page and two pages are missing half pages. This is a personal diarylike journal that contains handwritten notes or penmenship practice writing of author in ink , Ben Franklin obituary, a sample Bill of Parcel, an Epitaph. The List of children with birth dates from 1785 to 1806 appear to be family members. (Thomas born Jan 25,1786,Lucy born Novermer 27, 1785 0r 6, Jack Oct. 19, 1788, Bradford b. Dec. 27, 1790, Elisha b. Oct 21, 1792, Jared born Nov 7, 1795, Susanah b. May 25, 1797, Susanah departed this life June 29, 1800, Washington B. Nov. 10, 1793, Mary b. Oct 12, 1802 (?), Abram, b. April 11, 1806. At the bottom of each page is written "Jared Lillie's book 1776" The handwriting is excellent and there are handwritten "decorations" throughout. Many of the pages have "ink blotting" that makes some pages hard to read. There are also arithmetic computations/calculations on a few pages. Research shows a Jared Lillie born March 27, 1759 to a Elisha and Hulda (Tilden) Lillie from Windham, Ct. This may be the same Jared as one of the children listed in the Journal is Elisha which would be Jared's father's name and Abram Little who's birth date corresponds with an Abraham Little in the Windham Ct. genealogies. There is no listing of a city, state or location in the journal but Windham, Ct could be correct based on the exact date in an online genealogy.. This is an excellent example of a "period" piece of early Americana ephemera dated the year 1776 which is 240+ years old. See scan of cover. Book now in archival sleeve to protect condition. Rare, unique. ; Drawings; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 12 pages
