Red cover black print. Dust has chips and wear but now in mylar cover. Translated from the German by Lt. Colonel G.E. Kidde, U.S. Army. This is the special Marine Corps Association Edition made available to it's members only through the Combat Forces press. This is an account of the small-unit infantry engagements in which Rommel and his units were principle forces during WW I. The lessons Rommel drew from these experiences directly influenced his fighting in WW II, particularly his constant reconnaissance, either personally or by designated groups. Rommel's successes often came from his intimate knowledge of the geography of his fights and, often, the precise disposition of his enemies." "Written from his own experiences as commander of an elite Wurttemberg Mountain Battalion, a specialized assault unit of the German army. He covers operations in Belgium, France, the Argonne and the Vosge Mountains 1914-15. Then the Rumanian offensive of 1917 and the great offensive into Italy 1917 where his Battalion was involved in very heavy fighting" Rare edition.
