Light blue cover, with white lettering. Dust jacket now in Brodart mylar protective (clear) cover. This is the story of the Karluk, the leading ship of Stefansson's Artic Expedition of 1913-1918. The ship sunk and left 25 men stranded in the Artic ice for over five years until Stepfansoon returned. Eight died. The account was recorded by the Author who was 25 years old at the time and a school teacher from Scotland. He served as the expedition's magnetician and meterologist. He released his account very late as he did not want to cast any negative shadow on Stefansson, but felt he needed to set many of the facts previously written straight.
