Ms. Douglas fought for the conservation of Florida, especially the Everglades, all during her life. She died in 1998 at the age of 108! Signed on front end paper. Ms. Douglas was the first lady of conservation, and called the woman who "saved" the Everglades. She was born in 1890 in Minnesota , educated in Massachusetts, and came to Florida in 1915. She worked for her father who started the Miami Hearld. She died in the 1990"s. At the time of the writing of this book she was 97 years old. Beautiful scarce collectors grade copy of this book.
