Houghton Mifflin Harcourt 2005 0618563717 First Edition; First Impression Hardcover Fine in Fine dust jacket Signed by Author
Signed by Author on Title Page. Dust Jacket now in Mylar Protective Cover. Beautiful scarce collectors grade copy of this book. When Eric Lavender meets the attorney Colleen O'Brien Golden, his position as one of Manhattan's chic psychotherapists and most eligible bachelors suddenly loses its appeal. The sexy, stylish Colleen lures him to live with her and her young daughter in the exclusive suburb of Scarsdale. To his amazement, Eric is besotted and soon settles into the unexpected bliss of marriage and domesticity with their new baby and his loving stepdaughter. He even becomes a local hero when the police turn to him for help in resolving a hostage crisis. But Eric's transformation comes to an abrupt halt when the police knock on his door again -- this time with handcuffs. He and Colleen are caught up in an explosive conflict of interest involving their clients. When Eric discovers that Colleen has gone to extreme lengths to conceal her secret past, she retaliates with horrendous charges against him. Eric must uncover the truth before his children, his career, and his freedom are taken from him forever. As she did in her bestseller Almost, Elizabeth Benedict navigates the turbulent waters of love, law, psychology, and ethics with biting wit and penetrating insight. The Practice of Deceit is a razor-sharp novel of marriage -- and divorce -- gone awry. ; 1.2 x 9 x 6.2 Inches; 288 pages; p; Signed by Author

328 Bill, Pryor Mt. Triggers, plain, double, simple set, bouble set, single set
Author 1991 PhotoCopy Only; Photocopy Manila Folder or Binder Very Good with no dust jacket
Photocopy only of rare booklet in a manila folder on building triggers with measurements and what appears to be exact scaled diagrams for building various triggers. These schematics appear to be for early flintlock and percussion type rifles. There is a page showing the various weapons that used set triggers including: Crossbow, Wheellock, Jaeger, Long Rifle including Kentucky, Plains Rifle, and Sporting Rifle. The specific schematics that has the measurements do not name the rifle, but measurements are given for the Single Set Trigger, the Double Set trigger, and illustrations of Double Trigger, Single set, and Compound Single Set. There is a page dedicated to the Hartford Sharps 1875 Sporting Rifle. The footnote at bottom of that page says "a later, very well made and designed set trigger, suitable for any black powder rifle with minor modifications". It is assumed that since many of the rifles made in the era of the rifles using these triggers may have been handmade thus fitting of the trigger sets were custom for many of the guns. This is a photocopy Only.; Illustrated; 4to 11" - 13" tall; PDF

331 Binsfield, John W. & William C. Davis Faith in the Fight
Stackpole Books 2003 0811700178 First Edition; Various Hardcover Very Good in As New dust jacket
Tan and black cover with gilt print. Some marginal notations from the former owner an Army Chaplain who may have used them for sermon notes. Condition otherwise like new. For both Union and Confederate soldiers, religion was the greatest sustainer of morale in the Civil War, and faith was a refuge in a great time of need. Guarding and guiding the spiritual well-being of the fighters, army chaplains were a voice of hope and reason in an otherwise chaotic military existence. Here for the first time, encompassing the depth and breadth of their dedication and sacrifice, is their fascinating and uplifting story. Dr. James I. Robertson, Jr., is an alumni distinguished professor of history and the executive director of the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies at Virginia Tech. William C. Davis is professor of history and director of programs of the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies. John Brinsfield is a retired army chaplain in Atlanta, Georgia. Benjamin Maryniak is a lifelong student of the Civil War in Lancaster, New York. Dust Jacket now in Mylar Protective Cover.; Photographs; 9.10 X 6.10 X 1 inches; 256 pages

352 Blair, Tony A Journey My Political Life (Author Signed)
Knopf 2010 0307269833 First Edition; First Printing Hardcover Near Fine in Very Good dust jacket Signed by Author
Signed bookplate on endpaper. Stated first edition. Contents look new with many photos. Dust Jacket (not price clipped) is now in Mylar Protective Cover. The longest-serving Labour prime minister of Britain, and still a figure on the international political stage, Blair recalls in detail the events of his premiership. He covers lots of actions and activities and shares with forthrightness his thinking on world and domestic issues he had to confront; on the other hand, on occasion he does play his cards close to the vest, avoiding a complete “spilling” of his thoughts about a certain situation he had then and now. Blair’s view of the late Princess Diana is discerning; of his successor, Gordon Brown, hardly affectionate; of George Bush (the younger), certainly controversial. Consciousness of his public image was never far from how he acted in office and now how he writes about his actions. Behind the scenes in the halls of power is always an interesting place to go, and Blair takes us there with delight on his part and on our part, from weekending with the royal family in Scotland to the nerve-racking “Prime Minister’s Questions,” when the PM must face inquiries (read “criticism”) from the opposition MPs. Rare. Beautiful scarce collectors grade copy of this book.; Photographs; 9.40 X 6.70 X 1.70 inches; 700 pages; Signed by Author

Forge Books 2007 0765315424 First Edition; First Impression Hardcover Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket Signed by Author
Signed by Author. Dr. Cameron Talbot has invented a breakthrough technology to defend against cruise missiles. But she needs support from skeptical company officers, funding from a reluctant Congress, and help from the White House to develop her life-saving project. Lt. Col. Hunt Daniels, detailed from the Pentagon to the White House National Security Council to investigate Dr. Talbots work, sees the potential of the invention. The fact that hes attracted to the brilliant scientist adds one more dimension to his interest in her work. But disaster is brewing overseas as militants in the disputed Kashmir region of India steal a series of missiles from sympathizers in the Pakistani military and launch one against India. At the same time, they send one of their agents to Washington, D.C., to steal Dr. Talbots technology so they can protect themselves when their enemies retaliate. The scientist and the NSC staffer find themselves enmeshed in terrorist plots and political wrangling at the highest levels. With scenes in the Oval Office, the Situation Room, Capitol Hill, Georgetown restaurants, and Washington dinner parties, as well as action in Kashmir, New Delhi, and at the Taj Mahal, the tension and intrigue escalate until two nuclear-armed countries stand at the brink of war.; 1.2 x 9.4 x 6.3 Inches; 336 pages; Signed by Author

David Bogue (18 February 1750 – 25 October 1825) was a British nonconformist leader. He was born in the parish of Coldingham, Berwickshire, Scotland. After a course of study in Edinburgh, he was licensed to preach by the Church of Scotland, but made his way to London in 1771, to teach in schools at Edmonton, Hampstead and Camberwell. In 1777, he settled as minister of the Congregational church at Gosport in Hampshire.[1] His predecessors at the Independent Chapel of Gosport were the Rev. James Watson (1770–76) and the Rev. Thomas Williams (1750–70).[2]In 1771 he established an institution for preparing men for the ministry.[3][4] It was the age of the new-born missionary enterprise, and Bogue's academy was largely the seed from which the London Missionary Society grew.[5] In 1800 the society placed missionaries with Bogue for preparation for their ministries.[6] Bogue himself would have gone to India in 1796 if not for the opposition of the East India Company.[5] In 1824 he taught Samuel Dyer at Gosport before he left for Penang as a missionary with the London Missionary Society.[3]He was also involved in founding the British and Foreign Bible Society and the Religious Tract Society, and in conjunction with James Bennett, minister at Romsey, wrote a well-known History of Dissenters (3 vols., 1809). 386 Bose, Romen The End of the War Singapore's Liberation and the Aftermath of the Second World War
Marshall Cavendish Editions 2005 9812610669 First Edition Paperback Near Fine with no dust jacket
Book looks new. Where there are victors, there are also the defeated. As the Second World War comes to a close in Southeast Asia, the Japanese military forces in the region must face up to the fact that the British will soon return to reoccupy their colonies. The British, on the other hand, have to quickly organise the reoccupation of their former colonies, focusing on Singapore and Malaya. Surprised by the abrupt surrender of their enemies, planning is put into high gear. Meanwhile, prisoners of war and the general population in Malaya and Singapore, having suffered greatly under the Japanese, wait impatiently for the moment when they can once again breathe free. In the midst of this, chaos looms and racial tensions build, ready to erupt. Journeying to the past, this book unravels the intricate details of the culminating events in the history of the end of the war in Malaya and Singapore. Based on research gleaned from the classified documents only recently made public in the UK, an unprecedented exposition unfolds the events that went on behind the scenes as the British prepared to return to the region to reestablish their authority. With a cast of historical characters ranging from the great and powerful General Itagaki to the less well-known but no less significant members of the espionage Force 136, the events leading up to and following the official Japanese surrender in Southeast Asia is captured in remarkable detail here in one volume as The End of the War: Singapore’s Liberation and the Aftermath of the Second World War.; 0.5 x 8.1 x 5.8 Inches; 211 pages
