Brown cover with gold lettering on spine. Very clean and tight. Extensive genelaogy on the Ash-Ashe-Stillwell families. Starts with photo of Stillwell Family home close toe Fontana Dam build in mid to late 1800's. . Many photos throughout. "An attempt has been made to furnish a complete record on the Ash and thier descendents who came from Virginia to Lincoln County, N.C. prior to 1800 and by 1830 were in what is now Macon and Jackson Co., NC. When tey came it was Macon and Haywood County. These counties have since been reduced in size by the formation of Cherokee Co., 1839; Jackson County, 1851; Clay County., 1861; Swain County. 1871; and Graham Co., 1872." The start is with Jesse Ash b. circa 1784 in Virginia who married Mayr Huffman from N.C. Other major surnames in book include Dietz, Stillwell, Ashe, Cabe, Crisp, DeLozier, Fullbright, Green, Jones, Parker, Patterson, Pressley, Sutton, Taylor, Walker, Wiggins, Wright, and many more.
