Liberty Prize Catalog
1 Liberty Prize Catalog
New York, NY Macfadden Publications 1934 First Edition; First Printing Magazine Good with No dust jacket as issued
Some soiling to cover with creases to corners. Contents clean and bright. This catalog was used by "salesboys" who sold magazines in the 1930's for MacFadden Publications. They would earn coupons "greenies and brownies" which they could then redeem for prizes. Bernarr Macfadden (1868-1955) " became the most successful publisher of magazines in history. He was the first magazine publisher to establish a large, loyal readership. His circulation numbers were the highest in the industry exceeding even the publications of William Randolph Hearst. He truly revolutionized the publishing industry. Virtually overnight Macfadden's net worth increased astronomically. By 1924 at age 56 he had become a multi-millionaire" (bernarrmacadden.com). A rare, if not unique, example of this method of selling which gained momentum after the "Great Depression". Rare.; Vol. 10; Photographs, illustrations

The Truth About Aimee Semple McPherson A Symposium, Adamic, Louis, et. al.
3 Adamic, Louis, et. al. The Truth About Aimee Semple McPherson A Symposium
Girard, KS Haldeman-Julius Company 1926 First Edition; First Impression Paperback Very Good with No dust jacket as issued
Paperback booklet has tan cover black print. Former owners name in front. Cover shows soiling, contents clean. Paper yellowing due to age. Published articles by author and Edward Campbell, Mike Schindler, and Robert Mason exposing Aimee as a fraud. " Aimee Semple McPherson (October 9, 1890 – September 27, 1944), also known as Sister Aimee, was a Canadian-American Los Angeles–based evangelist and media celebrity in the 1920s and 1930s. She founded the Foursquare Church. McPherson has been noted as a pioneer in the use of modern media, especially radio, and was the second woman to be granted a broadcast license. She used radio to draw on the growing appeal of popular entertainment in North America and incorporated other forms into her weekly sermons at Angelus Temple. In her time she was the most publicized Christian evangelist, surpassing Billy Sunday and her other predecessors. She conducted public faith-healing demonstrations before large crowds; testimonies conveyed tens of thousands of people healed. McPherson's articulation of the United States as a nation founded and sustained by divine inspiration continues to be echoed by many pastors in churches today. News coverage sensationalized misfortunes with family and church members; particularly inflaming accusations she had fabricated her reported kidnapping, turning it into a national spectacle McPherson's preaching style, extensive charity work and ecumenical contributions were a major influence in revitalization of American Evangelical Christianity in the 20th century."(Wikipedia) Rare work. Official Inaugural Program Honoring Governor George C. Wallace, January 14, 1963, Alabama
4 Alabama Official Inaugural Program Honoring Governor George C. Wallace, January 14, 1963
Montgomery, AL Inaugural Committee 1963 First Edition; First Impression Paperback Very Good with No dust jacket as issued
Blue and white cover with photo of George C. Wallace. George Corley Wallace, Jr. (August 25, 1919 – September 13, 1998) was an American politician and the 45th Governor of Alabama, having served two nonconsecutive terms and two consecutive terms as a Democrat: 1963–1967, 1971–1979 and 1983–1987. Wallace has the third longest gubernatorial tenure in post-Constitutional U.S. history at 5,848 days. After four runs for U.S. President (three as a Democrat and one on the American Independent Party ticket), he earned the title "the most influential loser" in 20th century U.S. politics, according to biographers Dan T. Carter and Stephan Lesher.A 1972 assassination attempt left Wallace paralyzed, and he used a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. He is remembered for his Southern populist and segregationist attitudes during the mid-20th century period of the African-American civil rights movement and activism, which gained passage of federal civil rights legislation in the mid-1960s to enforce constitutional rights for all citizens. He eventually renounced segregationism but remained a populist.(Wikipedia); Photographs, Illustrations

Triggers, plain, double, simple set, bouble set, single set, Bill, Pryor Mt.
11 Bill, Pryor Mt. Triggers, plain, double, simple set, bouble set, single set
Author 1991 PhotoCopy Only; Photocopy Manila Folder or Binder Very Good with no dust jacket
Photocopy only of rare booklet in a manila folder on building triggers with measurements and what appears to be exact scaled diagrams for building various triggers. These schematics appear to be for early flintlock and percussion type rifles. There is a page showing the various weapons that used set triggers including: Crossbow, Wheellock, Jaeger, Long Rifle including Kentucky, Plains Rifle, and Sporting Rifle. The specific schematics that has the measurements do not name the rifle, but measurements are given for the Single Set Trigger, the Double Set trigger, and illustrations of Double Trigger, Single set, and Compound Single Set. There is a page dedicated to the Hartford Sharps 1875 Sporting Rifle. The footnote at bottom of that page says "a later, very well made and designed set trigger, suitable for any black powder rifle with minor modifications". It is assumed that since many of the rifles made in the era of the rifles using these triggers may have been handmade thus fitting of the trigger sets were custom for many of the guns. This is a photocopy Only.; Illustrated; 4to 11" - 13" tall; PDF

Tan and black cover with gilt print. Some marginal notations from the former owner an Army Chaplain who may have used them for sermon notes. Condition otherwise like new. For both Union and Confederate soldiers, religion was the greatest sustainer of morale in the Civil War, and faith was a refuge in a great time of need. Here for the first time, encompassing the depth and breadth of their dedication and sacrifice, is their fascinating and uplifting story. Dr. James I. Robertson, Jr., is an alumni distinguished professor of history and the executive director of the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies at Virginia Tech. William C. Davis is professor of history and director of programs of the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies. John Brinsfield is a retired army chaplain in Atlanta, Georgia. We provide delivery tracking to all US orders. Dust Jacket now in Mylar Protective Cover. Beautiful scarce collectors grade copy of this book. "Ben Tails (aka "Mr. Slide") leaves a bloody trail indeed in Cook's gripping tale of a modern warrior's journeys from Montana to Vietnam and other parts of Asia, always returning home, always searching. His skills as hunter and marksman turn him into a deadly sniper, while his Vietnam War experiences leave him disillusioned and aware that he has been manipulated for evil purposes. He stays for years in Asia, where he learns Mandarin and does his best to suppress the violent side of himself he calls Mr. Slide. Tails's core values make him far more interesting than the run-of-the-mill action hero, and when one of the rare people he trusts lures him from Montana to Japan for a simple job selling motorcycles—and sussing out bad guys—Mr. Slide may have to reappear. Tails soon discovers that he's being used as a pawn in a deadly and vicious high stakes game. Graphic violence, penetrating, incisive analysis of complex cultural and historical events and one man's heroic defiance make Cook's long overdue second novel (after 1988's Graveyard Rules) an event to celebrate. This is a writer with something to say and immense skills with which to say it." (May) ; 1.75 x 9 x 6.25 Inches; 465 pages; p; Signed by Author
