Liberty Prize Catalog
1 Liberty Prize Catalog
New York, NY Macfadden Publications 1934 First Edition; First Printing Magazine Good with No dust jacket as issued
Some soiling to cover with creases to corners. Contents clean and bright. This catalog was used by "salesboys" who sold magazines in the 1930's for MacFadden Publications. They would earn coupons "greenies and brownies" which they could then redeem for prizes. Bernarr Macfadden (1868-1955) " became the most successful publisher of magazines in history. He was the first magazine publisher to establish a large, loyal readership. His circulation numbers were the highest in the industry exceeding even the publications of William Randolph Hearst. He truly revolutionized the publishing industry. Virtually overnight Macfadden's net worth increased astronomically. By 1924 at age 56 he had become a multi-millionaire" (bernarrmacadden.com). A rare, if not unique, example of this method of selling which gained momentum after the "Great Depression". Rare.; Vol. 10; Photographs, illustrations

3 Accoce, Pierre And Quet, Pierre A Man Called Lucy
New York Coward Mccann 1967 First American Edition; First Impression Hardcover Very Good in Very Good dust jacket
Book and dust in excellent condition, looks never read. Roessler became a Russian Spy. Roessler's information came straight from the German High command. He would get radio contact from the Official Broadcasting Center of the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht. The information was given to a transmitter who only knew Roessler by his call number "RAHS." Any information regarding the German army was preceded by "Werther" "Olga" for the Air Force. His information contained troop movements, invasion timetables, production statistics, casualty counts, and loss of equipment for each battle. Often, his information was transmitted to the Russians before the German units received orders. The amount of information Rudolf Roessler sent over the course of five years to Russia could fill about 40 average length books. That is about 5,500 messages or 5 messages a day for 3 years, or approximately 129 messages a month. Russia used the information to wage psychological warfare. This was an unqualified success, and many German soldiers suffered mental breakdowns as a result. ; WWII spy Rudolf Roessler; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 250 pages

Paperback booklet has tan cover black print. Former owners name in front. Cover shows soiling, contents clean. Paper yellowing due to age. Published articles by author and Edward Campbell, Mike Schindler, and Robert Mason exposing Aimee as a fraud. " Aimee Semple McPherson (October 9, 1890 – September 27, 1944), also known as Sister Aimee, was a Canadian-American Los Angeles–based evangelist and media celebrity in the 1920s and 1930s. She founded the Foursquare Church. McPherson has been noted as a pioneer in the use of modern media, especially radio, and was the second woman to be granted a broadcast license. She used radio to draw on the growing appeal of popular entertainment in North America and incorporated other forms into her weekly sermons at Angelus Temple. In her time she was the most publicized Christian evangelist, surpassing Billy Sunday and her other predecessors. She conducted public faith-healing demonstrations before large crowds; testimonies conveyed tens of thousands of people healed. McPherson's articulation of the United States as a nation founded and sustained by divine inspiration continues to be echoed by many pastors in churches today. News coverage sensationalized misfortunes with family and church members; particularly inflaming accusations she had fabricated her reported kidnapping, turning it into a national spectacle McPherson's preaching style, extensive charity work and ecumenical contributions were a major influence in revitalization of American Evangelical Christianity in the 20th century."(Wikipedia) Rare work. Montgomery, AL Inaugural Committee 1963 First Edition; First Impression Paperback Very Good with No dust jacket as issued
Blue and white cover with photo of George C. Wallace. George Corley Wallace, Jr. (August 25, 1919 – September 13, 1998) was an American politician and the 45th Governor of Alabama, having served two nonconsecutive terms and two consecutive terms as a Democrat: 1963–1967, 1971–1979 and 1983–1987. Wallace has the third longest gubernatorial tenure in post-Constitutional U.S. history at 5,848 days. After four runs for U.S. President (three as a Democrat and one on the American Independent Party ticket), he earned the title "the most influential loser" in 20th century U.S. politics, according to biographers Dan T. Carter and Stephan Lesher.A 1972 assassination attempt left Wallace paralyzed, and he used a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. He is remembered for his Southern populist and segregationist attitudes during the mid-20th century period of the African-American civil rights movement and activism, which gained passage of federal civil rights legislation in the mid-1960s to enforce constitutional rights for all citizens. He eventually renounced segregationism but remained a populist.(Wikipedia); Photographs, Illustrations

13 Bill, Pryor Mt. Triggers, plain, double, simple set, bouble set, single set
Author 1991 PhotoCopy Only; Photocopy Manila Folder or Binder Very Good with no dust jacket
Photocopy only of rare booklet in a manila folder on building triggers with measurements and what appears to be exact scaled diagrams for building various triggers. These schematics appear to be for early flintlock and percussion type rifles. There is a page showing the various weapons that used set triggers including: Crossbow, Wheellock, Jaeger, Long Rifle including Kentucky, Plains Rifle, and Sporting Rifle. The specific schematics that has the measurements do not name the rifle, but measurements are given for the Single Set Trigger, the Double Set trigger, and illustrations of Double Trigger, Single set, and Compound Single Set. There is a page dedicated to the Hartford Sharps 1875 Sporting Rifle. The footnote at bottom of that page says "a later, very well made and designed set trigger, suitable for any black powder rifle with minor modifications". It is assumed that since many of the rifles made in the era of the rifles using these triggers may have been handmade thus fitting of the trigger sets were custom for many of the guns.
