Iron Jaw, A Skipper Tells His Story, Charles N. Bamforth 1895-1975 (Signed by all authors), Bamforth, Charles A. & Richard A. Bamforth
1 Bamforth, Charles A. & Richard A. Bamforth Iron Jaw, A Skipper Tells His Story, Charles N. Bamforth 1895-1975 (Signed by all authors)
Dorrance Pub Co 2002 0805954171 / 9780805954173 First Edition; First Impression Paperback Near Fine with no dust jacket
Signed by both authors. The extraordinary life of Captain Charles N. Bamforth spanned most of the twentieth century, beginning with his childhood at the turn of the century and continuing through his retirement and death during the Cold War era. During his sixty years at sea, Captain Bamforth experienced the Depression, two World Wars, and a number of troublesome labor disputes. Through it all, he also had to navigate loneliness, confusion, and marriage to both his family and the sea. His story is told in meticulous detail and with refreshing honesty. Captain Bamforths handwritten diaries, logs, and personal letters all have been carefully compiled by his sons, Charles and Richard, and reveal as much about the hard-working, unassuming courage of the captain as they do about the turbulent times during which he lived. Rare. ; 1.2 x 8.8 x 6 Inches; 436 pages; p; Signed by All Authors

Thunder Mountain, Grey, Zane
3 Grey, Zane Thunder Mountain
New York Grosset and Dunlap 1935 Second Edition; First Printing Hardcover Near Fine in Good dust jacket Signed by Author
Book looks almost new. Green cover with dark green print. Customary "Your trail and mine cross in mutual love of the Great West. Sincerely Zane Grey" signed in ink on free endpaper. There looks to be a former owners name that was erased on a blank endpaper. Very faint evidence. This is the Grosset and Dunlap editon printed by arrangement with Harper. The dust is price clipped, and has minor chips at top and bottom of spine and corners. Dust is now in brodart archival cover. Condition is collector quality just not a first edition. Book looks like it was not handled much or perhaps may have never been read. Scarce if not rare in this condition. End flap says "The issuance of this new edition at a reduced price is made possible by (a) use of the same plates made for the original edition (b) acceptance by the author of a reduced royalty. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 309 pages; Signed by Author
