Walk This Way The Autobiography of Aerosmith (Author Signed), Aerosmith & Stephen Davis
2 Aerosmith & Stephen Davis Walk This Way The Autobiography of Aerosmith (Author Signed)
Avon Books 1997 0380975947 / 9780380975945 First Edition; First Printing Hardcover Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket
Signed by Tyler, Hamilton, Whitford, and Kremer. Beautiful scarce collectors grade copy of this book. Dust Jacket now in Mylar Protective Cover and book housed in slipcase. From Aerosmith's heyday in the late 1970s, which they spent "gacked to the nines" (as lead singer Steven Tyler puts it), to the Aerosmith of today--clean, sober, and adored by millions--the band has a long, hard history. Walk This Way chronicles the whole story: drugs, booze, and all.Prefaced with the now familiar rock-star "intervention," when Steven Tyler's loved ones cornered him in his manager's office in 1986, the autobiography traces Aerosmith's twisted road, from their New Hampshire roots to their success in Boston to the worldwide fame that they long craved and currently enjoy. Tyler kicks off this rock & roll exposé, briefly recounting the history of his ancestors in Italy and sharing incidents from his own Northeast childhood. The book is written in interview style, with all five band members talking candidly about the good times--and the bad. We also hear from girlfriends, wives, friends, and various hangers-on. ; Photographs; 9.40 X 6.40 X 1.50 inches; 513 pages; Signed by All Authors

To D-Day and Back Adventures with the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment and Life as a World War II POW: A memoir, Bearden, Bob
6 Bearden, Bob To D-Day and Back Adventures with the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment and Life as a World War II POW: A memoir
Zenith Press/Author 2007 0760332584 / 9780760332580 First Edition; First Impression Hardcover Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket
Signed by two World War II heros, Bob Bearden on title page and by another 507th infantryman Jim "Pee Wee" Martin. Bob Bearden's To D-Day and Back was not just another paratrooper-themed memoir trying to ride on the success of others. Several distinctions set this work apart from others. Bearden told his story from a very personal angle. Coupled with the use of everyday prose, the book is another one of those works that felt much like storytelling by a member of the family. It is not just another war memoir, but rather, the book told how the war interacted with Bearden's life. n the predawn hours of D-Day, June 6, 1944, Bob Bearden and his comrades in the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment jumped into the inky skies over Normandy. Their mission: defend the west bank of the Merderet River against German counterattack. After long months of training they were finally taking the war to the Germans. Bearden’s time in combat proved shortlived, however, when he was captured on D-plus-2, June 8. This was only the beginning of a new war for his survival through multiple German POW camps, his so-called “liberation” by Russian tanker crews more bent on exacting vengeance upon the Germans than safeguarding Allied prisoners, and the perilous journey that followed, mostly on foot, along the sandy, snow-covered roads of Germany and Poland on the way to Moscow and eventually, back home to Dallas, Texas.(from inside flap) ; Photographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 304 pages; Signed by Collection of Signatures

The battle of Point Pleasant; an address by Landon C. Bell, Bell, Landon Covington
7 Bell, Landon Covington The battle of Point Pleasant; an address by Landon C. Bell
Bedford, Va The Peaks of Otter Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution 1931 First Edition; First Impression Paperback Very Good with no dust jacket
Paperback imprint of this famous address. Stored in an archival envelope with a hardside folder. Excellent condition. The Battle of Point Pleasant — known as the Battle of Kanawha in some older accounts — was the only major action of Dunmore's War. It was fought on October 10, 1774, primarily between Virginia militia and Indians from the Shawnee and Mingo tribes. Along the Ohio River near modern Point Pleasant, West Virginia, Indians under the Shawnee Chief Cornstalk attacked Virginia militia under Colonel Andrew Lewis, hoping to halt Lewis's advance into the Ohio Valley. After a long and furious battle, Cornstalk retreated. After the battle, the Virginians, along with a second force led by Lord Dunmore, the Royal Governor of Virginia, marched into the Ohio Valley and compelled Cornstalk to agree to a treaty, ending the war. (Wiki) Landon Covington Bell (1880-1960) was a lawyer and author who compiled/published vital records for several Virginia counties in the early 1900s (many of which are frequently cited in genealogical records for ancestors from "Southside" Virginia) He was industry advisor to the US Commerce Dept. under Sec. Hoover; and, he was an organizer of the Southern Coal Producers Assoc. He was a noted author of history and genealogy.; 16 pages

9 Bill, Pryor Mt. Triggers, plain, double, simple set, bouble set, single set
Author 1991 PhotoCopy Only; Photocopy Manila Folder or Binder Very Good with no dust jacket
Photocopy only of rare booklet in a manila folder on building triggers with measurements and what appears to be exact scaled diagrams for building various triggers. These schematics appear to be for early flintlock and percussion type rifles. There is a page showing the various weapons that used set triggers including: Crossbow, Wheellock, Jaeger, Long Rifle including Kentucky, Plains Rifle, and Sporting Rifle. The specific schematics that has the measurements do not name the rifle, but measurements are given for the Single Set Trigger, the Double Set trigger, and illustrations of Double Trigger, Single set, and Compound Single Set. There is a page dedicated to the Hartford Sharps 1875 Sporting Rifle. The footnote at bottom of that page says "a later, very well made and designed set trigger, suitable for any black powder rifle with minor modifications". It is assumed that since many of the rifles made in the era of the rifles using these triggers may have been handmade thus fitting of the trigger sets were custom for many of the guns. South Beach Shakedown The Diary of Gideon Pike (Author Signed), Bruns, Don
10 Bruns, Don South Beach Shakedown The Diary of Gideon Pike (Author Signed)
Oceanview Publishing 2006 1933515023 / 9781933515021 First Edition; First Impression Hardcover Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket Signed by Author
Looks new. Signed by Author on Title Page. Beautiful scarce collectors grade copy of this book. Dust Jacket now in Mylar Protective Cover. "A hearty welcome to musician-turned-novelist Don Bruns, whose South Beach Shakedown offers readers a high-energy romp through the uncomfortably parallel worlds of the pop music industry and the criminal underbelly of Miami. Entertainment journalist Mick Sever owes his career to pop star Gideon Pike. Pike allowed Sever into his inner circle back when Sever was a fledgling reporter, and that entrée put Sever on the map. Fame went to Sever’s head (not to mention his liver and his neural synapses) as he lived in the shadow of the pop idol; his excesses cost him his marriage, and very nearly his career as well. Now Gideon Pike is in a jam, and through a mutual acquaintance (Sever’s ex-wife, for whom Sever still carries an Olympic-size torch) he has summoned the writer to help bail him out. It will not be easy, though, for when Sever arrives in Miami, he finds that Gideon Pike has disappeared, and that Pike’s compadres are dropping like flies. A Korean mobster adds a bit of Asian! spice to the dish, and Sever’s ex, Ginny, supplies the sizzling heat. The banter, particularly between Sever and Ginny, is relaxed and believable, just what you’d expect from old lovers who are still friends. With the relentlessly action-packed South Beach Shakedown, Bruns has crafted what may be this season’s quintessential suspense read." Someone is about to make a killing in the music industry.

Why would songwriting legend Gideon Pike mysteriously disappear just when he is about to turn his 30-year career into a multi-million dollar profit?

Music columnist Mick Sever is back in Don Bruns’ third suspense masterpiece. This time he’s looking for answers and his missing friend in the gritty backrooms of South Beach’s biggest nightclubs, dodging suicide speedboats and running from sniper fire. What surfaces is how the major players in the music industry are not making the headlines, they’re just pulling the strings that create them. Hit it right, and the royalties – even someone else’s – can rake in millions for the rest of your life. The key is finding Gideon before Korean mobster Jimmy Shinn does. Jimmy is ready to cash in on the one secret that will bring Gideon to his knees and strip away what’s left of his career, his fortune, and his life. Whoever gets to Gideon first will either save him or pull the trigger. The deadly race is on. Tami Brady, TMC Reviews "Gideon Pike goes missing. Nobody knows if the man killed his gay lover and fled, if he’s hiding from the real killer, or if he’s skipped town on one of his occasional trips that usually happen when Pike owes someone money. "Even after I read this book, I still wasn’t sure whether I liked Gideon Pike or not. The guy seemed like such a sleaze at times, had so many secrets, and had layer upon layer of hidden lives that I wasn’t really sure if I ever got to see the real man behind all the smoke and mirrors. Moreover, when finally faced with the complex realities and dynamic personality of the man, I wasn’t sure how much of the made up situations and fantasies that Pike actually believed. "Despite this, or more likely because of these aspects, I couldn’t seem to put this book down. I was so eager to figure out if Pike was still alive, who had committed the murders, and the real truth behind all the deceptions that I had to keep turning the pages." Cathy Yanda for Readers Views "This is not the first time these characters meet in one of Don Bruns’ books. You may not have met them before, but it will not take you long to become well acquainted with them. In this adventure, Mick Sever, an entertainment writer, teams up with his ex-wife Ginny (did I mention he is still in love with her?) to solve the disappearance of Gideon Pike in South Miami Beach. While trying to locate the missing music icon, Gideon Pike, Ginny and Mick find themselves in more situations than you would find in a Jackie Chan movie. South Beach Shakedown is lean, fast paced and complex. There are murders, blackmail, dirty deeds, mobsters, near-death misses, speedboats, a cast of interesting people and plenty of scantily-clad women. If this book is not made into a movie, Bruce Willis will have certainly missed a great entertainment opportunity. "If you are looking for a book that will leave you with a great deal more knowledge than you already had, skip this one. However, if you are looking for a book that is absolutely a hoot to read and will leave you laughing and wanting more, you cannot miss with South Beach Shakedown. Once you finish, you will want to check out Don Bruns’ other books as well."; 1.2 x 9.3 x 6.1 Inches; 288 pages; Signed by Author

Dust Jacket now in Mylar Protective Cover . Long before he was President or head of the CIA, before he fought terrorist attacks on the Super Bowl or the White House, even before a submarine named Red October made its perilous way across the Atlantic, Jack Ryan was an historian, teacher, and recent ex-Marine temporarily living in England while researching a book. A series of deadly encounters with an IRA splinter group had brought him to the attention of the CIA's Deputy Director, Vice Admiral James Greer—as well as his counterpart with the British SIS, Sir Basil Charleston—and when Greer asked him if he wanted to come aboard as a freelance analyst, Jack was quick to accept. The gallant stand of the 101st Airborne Division at Bastogne has long become part of historical and media legend. But how many students of the war realize there was already a U.S. unit holding the town when they arrived? And this unit—the 10th Armored Division—continued to play a major role in its defense throughout the German onslaught."This is a superb detailed account of a less familiar aspect of a famous battle, often providing platoon by platoon and day-by-day details of the role played by the men of the US 10th Armored Division in the defensive of Bastogne, and thus in the wider Allied victory in the Battle of the Bulge" (History of War), "This book vividly portrays the battle with a series of interviews, medal citations and after action reviews. These are well attributed in the end notes, together with some brief statistics and a list of staff roles. The style should appeal to the general reader as well as military readers and there are good maps and illustrations...Most of the books on their role are out of print so this book is a useful addition on the subject." Dennis McMillan Publications 2006 0939767538 / 9780939767533 First Edition; First Printing Hardcover Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket Signed by Author
We provide delivery tracking to all US orders. Dust Jacket now in Mylar Protective Cover. Beautiful scarce collectors grade copy of this book. "Ben Tails (aka "Mr. Slide") leaves a bloody trail indeed in Cook's gripping tale of a modern warrior's journeys from Montana to Vietnam and other parts of Asia, always returning home, always searching. His skills as hunter and marksman turn him into a deadly sniper, while his Vietnam War experiences leave him disillusioned and aware that he has been manipulated for evil purposes. He stays for years in Asia, where he learns Mandarin and does his best to suppress the violent side of himself he calls Mr. Slide. Tails's core values make him far more interesting than the run-of-the-mill action hero, and when one of the rare people he trusts lures him from Montana to Japan for a simple job selling motorcycles—and sussing out bad guys—Mr. Slide may have to reappear. Tails soon discovers that he's being used as a pawn in a deadly and vicious high stakes game. Graphic violence, penetrating, incisive analysis of complex cultural and historical events and one man's heroic defiance make Cook's long overdue second novel (after 1988's Graveyard Rules) an event to celebrate. This is a writer with something to say and immense skills with which to say it." (May) ; 1.75 x 9 x 6.25 Inches; 465 pages; p; Signed by Author

First edition stated. Book and dust in very good condition. "A hidden or secret thing . . . that was how the Mycenaean civilization appeared to me long before I wrote a book about it eleven years ago; and so, I must admit, it still appears today, despite the vistas opened by archaeological and linguistic research over the past two decades. Why, then, add yet another book to the many which have been and are being published? The only justification I can offer is the attraction of something which is neither completely known nor completely unknown, like a great mountain under drifting cloud which reveals now a valley and then a peak, but never the whole."
